Ringway Church, Greater Manchester

May 2010 | Woodhall Planning and Conservation

PJO Archaeology has recently completed an archaeological desk top study of land at Ringway, Greater Manchester on behalf of Woodhall Planning and Conservation (Leeds). The study provides a comprehensive survey of the area from prehistoric times to the present day and identifies a number of features of archaeological interest including a motte and bailey castle at Ullerswood and a medieval park, the boundaries of which can be identified on the early OS maps. The study also outlines a strategy for archaeological investigation in the event of development.
